The Great Train Robbery
In August 1963 a fifteen-man gang stopped the Glasgow to London mail train at Bridego Bridge near Ledburn, Buckinghamshire, and escaped with £2.6 million — a record haul. Driver Jack Mills was struck and never worked again. Most of the gang were caught after fingerprints were found at their Leatherslade Farm hideout.
