The Brides in the Bath Murders
Between 1912 and 1914 George Joseph Smith bigamously married a series of women and drowned three of them in their baths for their money. The pattern was spotted only when a newspaper report of one death was read by relatives of another victim. Smith was tried at the Old Bailey and hanged in 1915.
